The I-Beam’s vertical side resists the sheer force exerted on it, while the flanges help the beam resist the load pressure, which would otherwise cause it to bend. Providing long-lasting and reliable stability and support, they provide an even weight distribution of consistently weighted heavy loads across the length of the beam support.
